Hot on the heels of the thrilling Bermy Cup Clash, two weeks ago, Live My Life Promotions is back at it again this weekend with a hardball dance called ‘Anyting Ah Anyting.’ This event will feature four of Bermuda’s baddest sounds and the line up promises to be a must see for all hardcore dancehall and clash fanatics.
Recently crowned Bermy Cup Champions – Ruff Cutt Sound, will string up along side 2015 Bermy Cup and 2016 Killa Season Champion, Hollywood Sound. The dance will also feature one of Bermuda’s most fearless and active warheads, Prophecy Sound, as well as the youngest and baddest One Life Sound out of Crawl.
Having recently celebrated their 3rd year anniversary, One Life Sound is regarded as the most promising young sound on the island. In just three years, they have made many accomplishments on the party/juggling circuit, featured on a several local stage show line ups and have undertaken many successful promotions. Now, One Life Sound is poised to make their mark in the hardcore arena. It will be interesting to see how they perform in a hardcore setting alongside sounds with more experience, more dubplates and scores to settle.
Hollywood Sound is currently regarded as “the sound to beat” and selector Fire Marshall has a huge target on his back. As many would recall, Hollywood Sound edged Prophecy Sound just last September, to win Killa Season Clash. It is therefore obvious that Marshall and Lava Ras already have a serious rivalry going. Maybe Prophecy will seize the opportunity to settle the score at this dance, or maybe since Hollywood killed dem already, they will just kill dem again? With two big clashes coming up in April, one foreign and one local, Prophecy needs a good showing at this dance to gain momentum and sharpen their skills for their upcoming clash dates.
Just two weeks ago, Ruff Cutt unleashed a brutal dubplate attack at Bermy Cup and gave local clash fans one of the most high energy and spirited performances in recent years. As MC Danger Don said in the heat of battle, “It was an ancient days killing.” Their performance compared to the other sounds was certainly a “cutt” above the rest. Ruff Cutt proved that they are a force to be reckoned with.
It is widely known that in the immediate aftermath of that victory, Ruff Cutt said that Hollywood would be next on their hit list. SB4L can reveal that in the days after Bermy Cup, Hollywood did not hesitate to reach out to Ruff Cutt, to set a clash date and make it happen. Ruff Cutt’s response to the offer was to defer the clash until next year for unspecified reasons. No doubt, this call out and deferral will be a major argument point at the dance. In a recent conversation with Fire Marshall, he was quoted as saying “Dem say dem ah go kill me next, so ok – now we ah go see.”
Only time will tell whether this dance will be an all jugglin affair, or if war will break out. It is certainly guaranteed to be action packed. SB4L salutes LML Promotions for their commitment to hardcore dancehall and clash culture in Bermuda, and we encourage everyone to head out to the Rec, on March 11th, because Anyting Ah Anyting!
